With a 25-year career as a full-time entertainer, James Alexander has built a reputation as a masterful live performer. Having performed at thousands of venues and events worldwide, James has connected through music with people all over Eastern Australia on some of their most important occasions, his seasoned voice and passionate stage presence making him one of Australia’s most prolific performers.

James’ career is marked by impressive industry collaborations, beginning with the inclusion of Jamiroquai’s drummer Derrick McKenzie on his very first record as both drummer and remix producer. Later, James worked with Grammy-winning producer Neal Pogue and David Ott, Jr., co-writing and co-producing a track originally intended for Earth, Wind & Fire, ultimately released by James himself, featuring Verdine White on bass and the Regiment Horns blasting the powerful brass arrangements directed by David Ott, Jr. James himself has produced hundreds of records for other artists.

His international touring credits include opening for Jamiroquai, Brand New Heavies, Los Amigos Invisiblés, Stan Walker, and David Ryan Harris, reinforcing his status as a world-class live act and complete-package musician. His looping show is a one-man orchestra, layering multi-instrumental performances on flute, trumpet, keyboards, guitar, percussion, and even surprise instruments he picks up for the challenge. When expanded to a full band, the show becomes a stage-shaking experience, featuring Australia’s finest musicians singing their hearts out together and leading the audience in a spontaneous choir.

James Alexander re-emerges in 2025, bringing his accumulated skills and life learnings across this millennium into a captivating collection of new songs known as Solstice. James sings directly from the heart, pouring his soulful and playful vocal style over a bedrock of great songwriting, fusing the genres of country, R&B, gospel, funk, and blues with deeply personal lyricism.
